About the role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician with a special interest in Maternal Medicine and Intrapartum care. You will join a team of 27 consultants working across the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a busy District General Hospital. This post is an Obstetrics role covering antenatal clinics, caesarean section lists, intrapartum care. Acute care will be resident Obstetrics days and nights. All acute services including the labour ward are based at the Princess Royal site. Elective activity can be provided at both the Princess Royal Hospital and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital sites. The post holder will also lead PROMPT training sessions to support the development of the acute obstetric care.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales. Person specification

Essential

MBBS, MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
MRCOG or equivalent
SITMs/ATSMs in Obstetric / Maternal Medicine or equivalent
Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: oCertificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) oCertificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
