MRCPCH or equivalent higher qualification
Full GMC Registration
MBChB/MBBS or equivalent
Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
European Community Rights APLS or EPLS or PALS provider
Success in Intercollegiate specialty examination or overseas equivalent or specialty accreditation if acquired prior to introduction of such examinations.
Clinical training and experience in general and community paediatrics equivalent to that required for UK CCT in community paediatrics.
Level 3 Child protection.
Experience in managing paediatric patients with disabilities and their associated medical problems.
Willing to work unsupervised and make decisions.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
Experience and understanding of clinical audit.
Ability to use evidence base and clinical audit to support decision making
Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty.
Ability to manage and lead a paediatric team
Training in standardised developmental assessments; e.g. Bayleys, Griffiths or SOGS
Experience of supervising junior medical staff.
Ability to teach clinical skills.
Commitment to continuing medical education.
Ability to take responsibility, lead, make decisions and respond appropriately to service needs
Ability to advise on efficient and smooth running of paediatric service
Good understanding of the structure and processes of the NHS
Experience and understanding of clinical audit
