These posts are available starting in October and will be based in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Paediatric Theatres at Barts Health Trust. The applicants should have experience in Paediatric dentistry including managing dental trauma and treatment under sedation & general anaesthesia. The post holder will be expected to participate in professional dental responsibilities and supervision of undergraduate students and dental therapists.

Applicants should possess full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC) but are not required to be on the Paediatric dentistry specialist list.

Person specification

Essential

BDS or equivalent and full registration with the General Dental Council (UK)
At least 3 years post qualification experience of Dentistry
Experience of working with children
Able to demonstrate a full range of clinical skills e.g. equipment, dexterity, mathematical, IT ability
Willingness to take responsibility
Flexible and co-operative with colleagues
High level of interpersonal skills
Able to communicate in lay terms, technical information to patients and dentists
le to communicate in verbal and written English to appropriate standard, as necessary

Desirable

MFDS or MJDF
An OMFS post or equivalent experience of working in theatres
Able to use IT applications e.g. PowerPoint
Experience of treating children under Inhalation Sedation
Acquired sedation competencies
Ability to work unsupervised
