About the role
What do you get? Rate - £300 per session (inclusive of any pension) Locum role What do we need? We are looking for an engaged, positive, friendly, hard-working and resilient individual to join our team at Cheadle Medical Practice, as a long term locum. It is a requirement for the role that you are available to locum on Tuesdays and Fridays, for four sessions per week in total. As it is a locum role, you will not be an employee of the practice. As such, there is some flexibility available over shifts. However, we are looking for candidates who can commit to the above days the vast majority of the time. We're working in an area with a very busy day-to-day operation, so we need someone flexible and resilient. We operate a system of triage designed to protect GPs from unnecessary workload. The post is for two days per week. Currently we allocate one On Call doctor per day, so you would be expected to be part of this rota. In our PCN, we have access to a Pharmacy Hub, First Contact Physio, Social Prescriber, Care Coordinator and Visiting Service, as well as Workflow Optimiser and Medical Reports Lead to help reduce GP workload. How to Apply Please apply using the portal. The deadline is Sunday 21st June 2026 at 11:59pm.
A Typical Day 15 appointments in the morning session, 15 appointments in the afternoon session (10 minute appts). We have an allocated 'on call GP' each day, and two paramedics who do the majority of the home visits. This means when you are doing normal sessions, any additional visits are built into the afternoon, rather than being 'extras'. You will be expected to be part of the On Call rota, but won't usually be prioritised as 'first choice' On Call GP. On Call doctor each day required to stay until 6:30pm. Any GPs working a normal day leave when the work is finished, which can be earlier. An allocation of up to 5 Docman, 10 lab results and 15 scripts per session.
