About the role
Imaging services at NHS HHP are primarilylocatedat all the main hospital sites in the group (Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital, Diana Princess of Wales Hospital at Grimsby, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and Goole & District Hospital) and 3 CDCs at Hull,Scunthorpeand Grimsby. Our team of81consultant radiologists work across 4 hospital sites and 3 CDCs.2consultants are set to join the team over the next 6 monthsand recruitment of 9 more are ongoing. There will a substantial increase in imaging capacity with new Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) recently opening at Scunthorpe,Grimsbyand Hull. Imagingdivisionsits with in the Specialist Cancer & support services care group led by Dr James Bailey - Chief of service, Helen Horth - director of operations and WendyKrstenic- director of nursing. These new posts are to meet the growing demand for radiology services at NLAG with the opening of the CDC (community diagnostic center) at Scunthorpe and Grimsby. The appointee will add to a team of 6 full-time and 2 LTFT radiologists at SGH or to a team of 6 full-time and 2 LTFT colleagues at DPOW, providing the full spectrum of general radiology along with subspeciality work. The post holder will be expected to share in the general workload of the department and develop special interests complimentary to those of existing Consultants locally and regionally. The appointee will be expected to contribute to clinical meetings including multidisciplinary cancer meetings. The appointee will take part in a 1:6 on call for radiology.
