Full GMC registration

FRCS(Urol) or equivalent

Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via:- - CCT or CESR (CP). Proposed CCT/CESR (CP) date must be within 6 months of interview - CESR

Ability to manage a full range of urological emergencies

Ability to take full independent responsibility for clinical care of patients

Expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a full range of Urological disorders

Thorough and detailed knowledge of medical audit, medical education, current clinical and medical best practice

Understanding of the clinical governance process

Competent in basic IT skills

Clinical and sub-speciality education and training

Awareness of health service reforms and issues across the healthcare economy

Ability to lead, communicate liaise and negotiate with others

Willingness to support the efficient and smooth running of the specialist service

Ability to motivate, innovate and support stall of all disciplines

Ability to supervise, appraise, coach and mentor trainees and other doctors

Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities, surgical waiting lists and operating lists

Commitment to continuing medical education

Experience of supervising foundation year trainees or equivalent

Ability to organise and participate in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students

Experience in demonstrating clinical procedures and techniques to other healthcare professionals

Ability to undertake complete audit cycle

Ability to undertake multidisciplinary audit

Demonstrable experience in clinical research and ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems

Knowledge of clinical governance issues

Interest and awareness of research methodology
