About the role

As a Consultant Radiographer, you will work alongside Consultant Radiologists and Specialist Doctors to deliver expert clinical care across one-stop symptomatic clinics, screening assessment clinics, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. You will independently perform and report advanced breast imaging and interventional procedures, including ultrasound-guided and stereotactic biopsies, localisation techniques and mammogram reading. A developmental role may be considered for an experienced advanced practitioner holding a minimum of breast ultrasound, interventional procedures and mammographic image interpretation qualifications. This would be paid at band 8a, progressing to 8c following completion of a full Masters qualification and subject to evidencing competency across the pillars of practice referenced in the consultant practitioner knowledge and skills framework. Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

Person specification

Essential

oMaster's Degree in Breast Imaging (to include Interpretation and reporting in mammography, Clinical examination and client communication, Breast ultrasound, Interventional procedures and Research)
oCertificate of Competence in Mammography
oState-registered with Health Care Professions Council
oDemonstrable experience as a Film-reading Radiographer
oKnowledge, experience and understanding of the NHS Breast Screening Programme Quality Assurance Guidelines
oDemonstrable participation in self-audit and reflection on personal film-reader performance
oDemonstrable experience of breast ultrasound, vacuum procedures, digital breast tomosynthesis and pre-operative localisation techniques
oAbility to apply evidence-based approach to management of clinical problems.
oEvidence of completed audit projects.
oGood current knowledge of breast literature.
oUp-to-date Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
oAbility to teach clinical and practical skills.
oWilling to teach both medical and radiographic trainees.
oGood fundamental knowledge with good communication skills for teaching.
