Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry - AMH CMHT

The Tees Adult Mental Health (AMH) services comprises of 4 localities: Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland. Each locality has Intensive Home Treatment and Crisis Services, Community Teams (Community hub and Treatment & Intervention teams) and a Primary Care team. Each locality will have its own EIP Service with close links to the Community Teams. In Patient Services for Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar and Cleveland are based at Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough. The post holder will cover Hartlepool community team (Intervention and Hub team) and will have supervision with consultant of the locality.The team caseload is 320 currently patients. This will fluctuate around these numbers.

The Specialty Doctor will deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented psychiatric care within the Hartlepool CMHT, managing a defined caseload of patients with complex and enduring mental health conditions.

The role involves autonomous clinical decision-making, risk management in community settings, and active participation in MDT processes, with an emphasis on continuity of care, relapse prevention, and least restrictive practice.

Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments in community clinics, home visits, and virtual settings. Formulate cases using a biopsychosocial model, incorporating risk and protective factors. Manage a caseload of patients with severe mental illness (e.g., psychosis, bipolar disorder, complex depression, personality disorder).
