About the role
This post is for a consultant in Rheumatology. This is a whole-time post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK or equivalent qualifications), to be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and to be on the Specialist Register or due to obtain their CCT within six months of the date of interview. Interviews for this position will be held on Tuesday 1st September 2026,
The post is for a fulltime (10 pa) Consultant Rheumatologist. It offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team to deliver excellent Rheumatology care across Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. A specialist interest is welcomed. Applicants are required to hold membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK or equivalent qualifications), be fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and to be either on the Specialist Register for Dermatology or due to obtain their CCT within six months of the date of interview. o This post holder will be employed for a full-time post (10PA), although consideration will be given to candidates who are planning to work less than full time. o Provision of ward consultations for inpatients is necessary according to requirements. o The post holder is required to participate in the management structure of the Medical Division. Proposed job plan: DCC: 7.5PA (5 Clinics 4.75PA, Clinical Admin 1.75PA, Advice and guidance 0.25PA, MDT 0.25 PA and Ward referral 0.5PA, ) SPA: 2.5 (1.5 PA revalidation and up to 1PA for Audit, research, and supervision) On-Call Commitment There is no rheumatology on call commitment in this post.
