About the role
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust provides maternity and neonatal services across its two main acute sites: Scunthorpe General Hospital (SGH) and the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital (DPOW), Grimsby. Together, the Trust supports a combined birth activity of approximately 4,800 births per year, comprising around 2,100 births at SGH and 2,700 births at DPOW. Both hospitals provide 24/7 maternity and obstetric services. DPOW also hosts a Local Neonatal Unit (LNU / Level 2) with 3 intensive care cots and 1 high dependency cot,8 special care cots and 4 transitional care cots. Both Paediatric wards (Disney ward at SGH and Rainforest ward at DPOW) have 2 High Observation beds and 10 paediatric beds. The Paediatric Assessment and Observation unit at both sites have 8 beds. Both sites are supported by a robust Community Nursing team and Hospital @ home team. Specialist Community Nursing team support the consultants in subspecialities which includes Respiratory, Epilepsy. Endocrine, and Oncology. A team of Paediatric Diabetic Nurses support Consultant with special interest in Diabetes. The Diabetes team have ensured the lowest HbA1C results in the network for 4 consecutive years.
As a senior employee of the Trust the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support, other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's Patients. Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements: - To ensure the provision of a high standard clinical service. To provide effective leadership to the junior doctors and medical students To undertake all work in accordance to the Trust's procedures and operating policies To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's operational group service plans.
