About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Practitioner to join our team! Acorn Group Practice is a well-established practice with a great team spirit. Our Practice is located in Twickenham and has a patient population is just over 8,000 patients. We are looking to recruit a part time salaried GP to join our existing team. Although the role is initially part time, there may be scope to increase this in the near future. The role is for 4 sessions per week, over two full days. Wednesdays and Fridays. The ideal candidate would be a GP Trainer as we are a very dynamic, evolving and supportive training practice.
Undertaking surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness Developing care plans for health and providing health education to patients Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate The candidate will need to deliver an excellent standard of care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Alongside this, the candidate will adhere to the GMC standards for safe and good medical practice. It is important that the candidate feels they will be able to contribute to the effectiveness of the Practice through leading by example, staying positive and building great working relationships with the team and wider health professionals.
