Salaried GP

Mythe Medical Practice, based in Tewkesbury have an opening for a 4 session a week GP looking to join our outstanding practice. This post is ideal for a GP who enjoys collaborative working as part of a friendly team in a purpose-built medical centre in the heart of the community. 4 sessions per week 2 sessions on Wednesday and 2 sessions on Thursday Duty sessions on rota morning in admin room processing urgent on the day requests and whole day seeing urgent on the day cases and triaging in the afternoon.

Employed under 2026 to 2027 new GP funding this is initially a Fixed Term contract running to 31st March 2027. Depending on staffing and Partner changes the role may become permanent but this is not guaranteed.

The Salaried GP will manage their own caseload based on their allocated patient list dealing with a wide range of primary care health needs.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post holder will make themselves available to undertake varying duties within the Primary care setting. These include, but are not limited to, face to face consultations, telephone consultations, home visits (although these are often undertaken by a Paramedic), care home visits, repeat medication work - dealing with queries and signing prescriptions, dealing with correspondence and tasks in a timely manner, making autonomous decisions in respect of patient care whether self presenting or referred by other agencies, admitting patients to hospital or other medical facilities where appropriate, managing and developing care plans for patients, participating in screening and review of ongoing health conditioning in the patient population in order to meet practice targets. Generally the post holder will be required to undertake the normal duties associated with the work of a Primary Care Salaried GP.
