About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague with a specialist interest in Genitourinary radiology or IR with an GU interest to join our team of 44 consultants. We are a dynamic and innovative department, and the applicant will be expected to provide acute and sub speciality imaging and have a strong interest in teaching. Genitourinary Radiology Department This new Uroradiology post is to join our team of subspecialty radiologists (currently 2 GU radiologists, 2 GU and interventional). The department of urology includes 10 urologists, serving Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, providing cancer (prostate, bladder, ureteric and renal) and stone services. Portsmouth is leading center for robotic partial nephrectomy and provides teaching for both international and national surgeons. The radiology department has a specialist interest in urothelial malignancies. There are opportunities for both research and publication. The department provides a comprehensive Uroradiology Interventional service. Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is a major renal centre covering the majority of Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the adjacent parts of Wiltshire, West Sussex, Berkshire and Surrey and servicing a population of 2.2 million people. It is a major renal transplant unit performing over 100 transplants per year. It provides renal replacement for over 1500 patients per year via fistula access. Person specification

Essential

- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT (proposed date must be within 6 months), CESR or European Community Rights
- Fellowship of Royal College of Radiologists, or equivalent.
- Subspecialty experience in genitourinary imaging
- Demonstrable, significant and ongoing experience in GU radiology with evidence of significant subspecialist training, including competence in a broad range of ultrasound, MRI, CT including biopsies.
- General Diagnostic Radiology skills to support local requirements for acute general radiology service weekday time and on call/ in and working at weekend.
- Understanding of clinical risk management.
- Evidence of teaching medical, radiographic and nursing staff.
<ul><li>Professional skills of high standard in Clinical Radiology.</li><li>Demonstrable basic management skills.</li><li>Excellent time management.</li><li>Computer literacy.</li></ul>

Desirable

- Management course or experience.
- Fellowship level training in genitourinary imaging.
- Interventional Uroradiology experience including image-guided biopsies and some fluoroscopic procedures.
- Fellowship in Uroradiology.
<ul><li>Appropriate and relevant publications in peer reviewed journals; presentations at national or international meetings.</li><li>Evidence of clinical research training and significant involvement in research projects.</li><li>Advanced computer skills.</li><li>Knowledge of the principles of service redesign.</li></ul>
