A Locum GP is required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. The role is to support, mentor, and supervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be an integral part of the general practice team
Located in the heart of Thomas Hardys historic Dorchester, surrounded by stunning landscapes, peaceful villages and vibrant towns, the Atrium Health Centre is a two partner, 7000 patient GP surgery. We are a friendly bunch who recognise the importance of getting the work/life balance right. Our close-knit clinical team embraces working together to get problems sorted. We employ a paramedic for our home visits and a pharmacy tech to help with our discharge summaries and other medicines management. We also benefit from the services of a number of ARRS staff via our PCN including a Frailty team, visiting paramedics, Clinical Pharmacists and a DigitalAdmin team. Our doctors have embraced telemedicine, video calls and eConsults. We currently use an eConsult first system to triage appointments which means our patients are getting face-to-face or telephone appointments much quicker than our old telephone first system.
