About the role
This is a full-time post and the post holder will be part of the diagnostic neuroradiology team, part of the Department of Radiology, in the CCS Directorate. This is a 10 PAs per week substantive position. There is an on-call commitment, currently of 1 in 6.
The post holder will be part of a team of six neuroradiologists who provide a high end complex diagnostic neuroradiology service for the Trust and the region, and will be expected to have all the skills required to perform the core aspects of this service. 2. The core clinical activity of the post will be the preparation of reports on the neuroradiological examinations performed within the Trust as well as providing second opinions on such cases referred to the Neuroradiology service from outside the Trust. Another key aspect of the service will be covering the intraoperative MRI service. 3. The post holder will be required to work closely with neuroradiological colleagues to provide timely and accurate reports, taking personal responsibility to maximise the diagnostic efficiency and quality of neuroradiological examinations through supervision of neuroimaging, guidance, advice and training of all related medical and non-medical staff. The appointee will be expected to supervise and train the junior medical staff during their DCC sessions. 4. The position will involve CT and MRI Neuro reporting sessions (with a job plan of 8.0 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) PAs and 2.0 Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) PAs. 5. There is a system of internal cover which operates in the department and the internal cover sessions will involve the same modalities as the other designated DCC sessions.
