About the role
This is a full time appointment for a Trust Grade Doctor in Oculoplastics based within the Ophthalmology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post will be available from November 2026 for a period of 12 months.
The successful candidate will join the Oculoplastics team in delivering specialist care for patients with oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital conditions. The role includes outpatient assessment and management, elective and emergency theatre sessions, ward reviews where appropriate, and participation in the ophthalmology on-call rota. In keeping with our role as a leading teaching hospital, there will also be opportunities to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, clinical audit, quality improvement, research and service development.
Join the Oculoplastics service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the UK's largest and most progressive teaching hospitals, as a Trust Grade Doctor based at St James's University Hospital. Working within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team alongside consultant oculoplastic surgeons, you will contribute to the delivery of specialist oculoplastic services across outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and on-call care, while also having opportunities to participate in teaching, research and service development.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic ophthalmologist with experience in oculoplastics, excellent clinical and surgical skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient-centred care. This is an excellent opportunity for a post-CCT doctor or senior trainee wishing to further develop their subspecialty expertise in a supportive teaching environment that values collaboration, innovation and continuous professional development.
