Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine

This is an exciting opportunity for a standalone IMT3 / Senior Clinical Fellow (SCF) to gain experience in Acute Medicine. It is suitable for doctors who are considering a career within the specialty or in a Group 1 Medical Speciality, or who simply wish to develop their skills and knowledge in adult medicine at a senior level. You will be part of the Acute Medicine team who deliver high quality care to patients at the front door of the hospital and will have the opportunity to practice procedural skills, develop your clinical acumen and leadership, reflecting the IMT3 curriculum. It is suitable for those completing the Alternative Certificate to enter Group 1 Higher Physician Speciality Training to enter training at ST4 level. You will work with a dynamic multidisciplinary team and play a role in teaching medical students and junior doctors, work collaboratively with the START team (accelerated discharge therapy team), Virtual ward, frailty team as well as the other hospital-based specialties and tertiary services. Effective communication skills form a key part of this role, and this is an excellent opportunity to step up to the next level of clinical leadership and decision making from an SHO level role.
