Consultant Psychiatrist

Pinhoe View in Exeter is seeking a dedicated professional to join our established medical team, providing care to men and women with enduring mental health problems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside another full-time Consultant Psychiatrist and two Associate Specialists, within a 36-bed inpatient service. Youll be part of a multidisciplinary team including Nursing, OT, Psychology, and Social Work, supporting patients with the help of an Associate Specialist doctor. While primarily responsible for delivering a quality clinical service, you will also be expected to be actively involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services, being involved with the ward manager and senior management team in helping to steer the development of the service in line with the strategic direction of the hospital and Elysium. The Consultant Psychiatrist will join the existing medical team at Pinhoe View in Exeter, providing care for patients with enduring mental health problems. This role involves leading clinical decision-making, managing complex cases, formulating care plans, and guiding evidence-based treatment. The successful candidate will also participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, care reviews, and strategic service development. Collaborating with external agencies, implementing the Mental Health Act, contributing to clinical governance, audits, and service improvement are key responsibilities. A Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status, MRCPsych or equivalent, and experience in acute inpatient or community settings are required.
