LOCALLY EMPLOYED DOCTOR - FY2 Acute Medicine

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to appoint an FY2 doctor to join an enthusiastic forward-looking Acute Medicine Department at Conquest Hospital

12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT

This role will be based in our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit but with rotation into the acute medical unit, which runs alongside the Acute Assessment Unit. working a 1:4 weekend and late pattern. The Candidate must hold full GMC registration.

Person specification

Essential

MBBS or equivalent
Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice
Wide experience in all aspects of General (Internal) Medicine
Evidence of participation in staff management
Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit
Understanding of the role of research
Effective communicator, able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
Leadership qualities
Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills
Ability to work with colleagues in other specialities to develop local services
Professional attitude towards work Good record of attendance
Good record of attendance
UK Driving Licence
Enthusiasm for teaching medical students, nursing staff and other professional groups

Desirable

MD or equivalent
Experience in other relevant medical specialities
Management course and/or qualifications
Knowledge of the structure of National Health Service
Completion and/or Publication of audit projects
Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc, relevant to speciality
Ability to lead clinical research project
Good presentation skills

Demonstration of initiated projects
