Deputy Chief Medical Officer Professional Practice

Job Title: Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) - Professional Practice and Support Accountable to: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Contracted Time 6 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week for Responsible Officer (RO) and Medical Professional Standards duties, including senior leadership meetings Clinical activity in any speciality (up to 4 PAs) to be maintained in agreement with the CMO under a standard Consultant or SAS contract. 20% responsibility allowance Base NELFT headquarters with options for working from home and cross-site working across the Trust footprint. Travel will be required. Support Deputy Responsible Officer (4 PAs/week to be recruited to) Band 6 Support Officer as part of Medical Staffing Team This is a very senior and influential medical leadership role in the Trust, reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, and one of four deputies. The post holder will be part of the wider executive management team.

The postholder will: Lead the development and delivery of systems that promote professional support, development and governance for medical staff across the Trust. This will include designing, implementing and evaluating mentoring and buddying arrangements for doctors requiring additional support and newly appointed consultants; supporting the induction and integration of doctors joining the organisation; overseeing the quality assurance of medical appraisal processes; developing and delivering training for appraisers and appraisees; developing and deliver
