George Eliot Hospital is seeking a Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join a dynamic and supportive Elderly Care Department delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for older adults. The service provides comprehensive geriatric assessment through a multidisciplinary team, with a strong focus on holistic care, admission avoidance, and early intervention to maintain independence and improve outcomes. The role will support the development of the Acute Frailty Service, including an enhanced front-door model and close working with community teams and ambulance services. Inpatient and orthogeriatric services remain integral, supported by dedicated beds and specialist teams. Opportunities exist to develop clinical interests alongside existing frailty, falls, and movement disorder services. The Trust offers strong professional support, including a new consultant support programme, CPD opportunities, and flexible working to promote a healthy work-life balance.
