About the role
Join South Coast Medical Group and help shape the future of primary care in Dorset. As one of Dorset's largest primary care providers, caring for over 55,000 patients across six practices, we are recruiting a Salaried GP & Clinical Lead to join our supportive and forward-thinking team at Marine & Oakridge Surgery. This is a 6-session role, working Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, combining a Salaried GP position with Clinical Lead responsibilities for the Marine & Oakridge site. At SCMG, you'll be part of a collaborative organisation that values clinical excellence, innovation and continuity of care. We are committed to supporting our clinicians through strong multidisciplinary working, opportunities for professional development and a genuine focus on staff wellbeing. Our values underpin everything we do: Seek Solutions | Care and Be Compassionate | Mean What You Say | Grow Relationships Whether you are looking for your next challenge or a role that offers greater flexibility, leadership opportunity and support, we would love to hear from you.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse practice population, undertaking the full range of duties associated with a GP in primary care. This will include face-to-face, telephone and video consultations, home visits, prescribing, managing complex and undiagnosed conditions, clinical administration and contributing to QOF, enhanced services, audit and service improvement. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will provide visible and proactive clinical leadership for the Marine & Oakridge site. You will support clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement, lead regular clinical meetings, oversee agreed actions and work closely with GP Partners, Senior Leaders and other Clinical Leads. You will also have responsibility for supporting and managing allocated staff, including one-to-ones, appraisals, performance and absence management, and will take ownership of agreed Clinical Lead portfolio areas and site-level priorities.
