Consultant Psychiatrist

Consultant Psychiatrist - Fully registered medical practitioner. Permanent - Part time 22.5 hours per week. Full UK driving license with access to vehicle for work purposes. This is a community post and requires travel between locations in Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire, although you will be working alongside other medics to minimise travel where possible. Reviews mainly take place face-to-face but there is an option for remote working up to 1 day per week, according to service needs. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Consultant Psychiatrist with substantial mental health expertise to take on a senior clinical leadership role within a well-established service. This is a part-time post of 0.6 WTE (6 PAs), worked flexibly across the week as agreed. You will work alongside a second Consultant Psychiatrist and a Speciality Doctor colleague within a strong multi-disciplinary team, which includes Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychotherapists, a Dietician, Residential Managers and Support Workers. Essential Criteria: Full UK Driving License Medical Practitioner with GMC Specialist Registration, on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR award at the time of interview) Approval under Section 12(2) MHA 1983/current Approved Clinician status, or eligibility to apply Experience managing complex mental health presentations in community or in-patient settings Excellent oral and written communication skills and organisational abilities Leadership skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of an MDT Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty, providing senior clinical decision-making and support to the wider team Desirable Criteria: Experience of working with Complex Emotional Needs and complex trauma presentations Experience of eating disorders, in either an inpatient or community setting Knowledge of systemic models Knowledge of attachment disorders Knowledge of neurodevelopmental assessments Experience of clinical and/or educational supervision of junior medical staff
