About the role
This post will cover a career break (12-month FTC). The role will cover general Cardiology, coronary intervention, and development in Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) services. Providing cover for the PPCI service, Cardiology Consultant of the week and the PH service. The role will also support the expanded National PH service based at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Hospital. On call commitments with PPCI and PH
It is expected that the applicant is trained in general cardiology with an interest in coronary intervention. It is desirable that the applicant has experience in the investigation and management of pulmonary hypertension, with a view to developing this as a second sub-specialty interest. The PH consultant body will support the successful candidate'straining and professional development in this area. The primary objectives of the department that this post is intended to support are: 1. To provide excellence in patient experience and safety2. To support the on-call cardiology rota and PPCI on call cardiology rota3. To support the on-call PH rota4. To support the National Pulmonary Hypertension service5. To support the Royal Free Hospital in remaining a strong organisation The new consultant will be working alongside experienced colleagues that will offer mentorship and support. The ethos of our department is to share and pass on the experience, expertise and knowledge from senior to junior Consultants by working closely together as a team.
