We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to drive innovative public health strategies, collaborate with partners, and inspire positive change. If you are an experienced public health leader with strong strategic, analytical and partnership skills and you are excited by the opportunity to shape insight driven, system wide action on health and inequalities, we would be delighted to hear from you. Applications are welcome from those included in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice, GDC Specialist List or inclusion in the UK Public Health Register, UKPHR for Public Health Specialists or are within 6 months of gaining entry to a register at the date of interview.
The successful candidate will take a leading role on the wider determinants of health by working across the council and system partners on areas such as housing, planning, transport, employment, environment, climate change and community safety, advocating for a health in all policies approach to ensure health improvement and reducing inequalities remain central to organisational priorities. As Deputy Director of Public Health, you will lead the Public Health Intelligence portfolio, ensuring high quality data and insight drives local decision making. This will include leading the development and implementation of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, JSNA and Joint Health and Well being Strategy, JHWS. The portfolio also covers strategic leadership for Academic Public Health, strengthening partnerships with universities and research bodies, promoting evaluation, innovation and training, and embedding evidence informed practice.
