About the role
Working Full time: 40 hours per week An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated team players to join our Plastic Surgery Department at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are currently welcoming applications for 2 x Locum Trust Doctors ST3+ level to join the team. These posts will be based at the Countess of Chester Hospital where operative work will be undertaken. Clinics will be held at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The appointee will be under the instruction of the Consultants in this Consultant-led Unit, acting at middle grade level. They will be required to assist in and will participate in in-patient, day case and out-patient plastic surgical procedures and attend weekly out-patient clinics. Occasionally, they will be required to attend out-patient clinics held in peripheral sites. This is a Trust post and not recognised for training purposes, however the successful candidate will be expected to fully participate in regular teaching sessions & other relevant educational opportunities. LTFT applicants will be considered (this will include on-call.)
Clinical Responsibilities The post holder will be responsible for the daily routine running of the ward rounds, patient care and management, including the guiding of Trust ST1/2s & Specialty Trainees. They will be directly answerable to their consultant. In addition, they are expected to be a team player, assist in theatres when appropriate and perform operations at their level of training. The successful candidate would also have dedicated LA operating sessions. The post holder is expected to attend clinics. Cover Arrangements for Leave All leave is covered internally by colleagues and it is the responsibility of each doctor to ensure that arrangements have been made to cover duties including on-call. All annual leave must be approved by leave coordinator a minimum of 6 weeks prior. Continuing Professional Education To take responsibility for your own continuing professional education in accordance with guidelines set out by the appropriate college\faculty\professional body. Research opportunities are available depending on individual interests. Education A well-equipped post-graduate centre and library is sited adjacent to the General Wing on the Countess of Chester Hospital site. There is an active programme of lectures and meetings, including those of the Chester and North Wales Medical Society.
