About the role
This post is for a Locum Consultant in Dermatology. This is a whole-time fixed term 12-month post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK or equivalent qualifications), to be fully registered with the General Medical Council via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) (CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation upon successful application)
This post holder will be employed for a full time post (10PA), although consideration will be given to candidates who are planning to work less than full time. Provision of ward consultations for inpatients is necessary according to requirements. The post holder is required to participate in the management structure of the Medical Division. Proposed job plan: 4 out-patient clinics per week (three general dermatology, one skin cancer) 1 minor surgery session per week (likely to be held at St Helens) 0.5 session for ward referrals and MDT 2 sessions for direct patient administration (including time allocated for Advice & Guidance) 1 session for continuing professional development "Grand Round" (Broadgreen Hospital three weeks per month /Clatterbridge once monthly) 1.5 sessions for teaching/audit /research/clinical management/non-clinical Clinic templates are in accordance with the guidelines issued by the British Association of Dermatologists. A typical clinic consists of 5 new patients, 10 follow up patients. There is no on-call commitment. This post has 2.5 SPA
