Clinical Fellow in Regional Anaesthesia

Applications are invited for this exciting opportunity as a fellow post in regional anaesthesia and point of care ultrasound at Colchester Hospital as part of East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust.

The post offers a unique opportunity for anyone who wishes to gain further skills and experience in developing a sub-speciality interest in regional anaesthesia. You will be exposed to a myriad of regional blocks and have the opportunity to expand regional anaesthesia delivery at Colchester Hospital through teaching, training and quality improvement. The majority of work will be within our new multi – million pound regional orthopaedic hub, ESEOC, the Dame Clare Marx building which opened in 2025.

The post would be for 12 months, commencing August 2026

The successful applicant will join an established and enthusiastic team in delivering quality anaesthetic, perioperative and critical care services at the Trust. The post holder will be expected to take part in the out of hour’s on-call rota.  All rotas are new junior doctor contract compliant with a frequency of no greater than 1 in 8. The successful candidate would be expected to participate on rotas for ICU, theatres and delivery suite (depending on experience and competencies).
