Consultant in Heart Failure and Cardiac Imaging

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Cardiology department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The postholder will contribute towards the delivery and development of both the inpatient and outpatient heart failure service at East & North Herts NHS Trust. They will also support the Cardiac Imaging Department through regular imaging sessions, including complex echocardiography and, where appropriate CMR for candidates withrelevant experience. The role includes participation to the 'Cardiologistof the Week' rota, which includes 1:9 weekend ward rounds. The successful applicant is expected to be actively involved in the Heart Failure Service at Eastand North Herts NHS Trust and will work closely with the Integrated Heart Failure Service(Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust) and the Hospital at Home Service. In addition, they areexpected to contribute to the cardiac imaging department. Extensive experience in complexechocardiography (TOE, stress echocardiography) is needed and experience in other imagingmodalities (predominantly CMR, but also CT) is desirable. The ideal candidate should have an interest in valvular heart disease, as we are currently in the process of setting up a Valve Clinic. The post holder will also contribute towards the general cardiology service at the Lister, including participation in the Cardiologist of the week Rota, which includes weekend cardiology ward rounds.
