About the role
The Bank General Practitioner will provide high-quality, safe and effective primary medical services within TyneHealth's Enhanced Access Service on behalf of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across North Tyneside.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the postholder will deliver routine general practice appointments during evenings and weekends, ensuring patients have timely access to high-quality care outside core practice opening hours in line with the NHS Enhanced Access service specification.
Deliver face-to-face & telephone consultations as appropriate. Assess, diagnose, investigate and manage a wide range of acute and routine primary care presentations. Develop safe and effective management plans based upon current clinical evidence and national guidance. Prescribe medicines safely and appropriately in accordance with national and local prescribing guidance. Request investigations where clinically indicated. Refer patients appropriately to secondary care, community services or other healthcare professionals. Recognise and respond appropriately to medical emergencies. Ensure appropriate safety-netting advice is provided to all patients. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous electronic patient records using the clinical systems. Complete referrals, fit notes, prescriptions and other clinical documentation promptly. Participate in the management of patients with long-term conditions where appropriate. Support continuity of care by communicating effectively with registered GP practices.
