currently have a position for ST3+ Anaesthesia Fellowships based at the William Harvey Hospital, designed to support development of RCoA Stage 2 (ST4-equivalent) capabilities and strengthen applications for Higher Training pathways. These posts are development focused, not solely service roles, providing structured opportunities to build a strong portfolio alongside ongoing clinical anaesthetic practice and on-call commitments. The Anaesthetic Department at William Harvey Hospital is a friendly, dynamic and supportive team with a strong track record in: o Delivering high-quality training and supervision o Supporting doctors to successfully enter Higher Training o Enabling progression through CESR / Portfolio Pathway routes We offer 27 days' annual leave and active support for study, quality improvement and patient safety work as part of our 'We care' improvement journey, and medical education and research.

The post holder will undertake clinical anaesthetic duties at ST3+ level, including elective and emergency work and participation in the on-call rota (obstetrics, theatres, ED, PCI, trauma, and transfers). The role is 48 hours per week. The on-call commitment is currently arranged as a 1:8 full rota. In addition, the fellow will undertake a subspecialty fellowship, gaining focused experience in their chosen area. Responsibilities include: o Delivery of safe anaesthesia and perioperative care appropriate to Stage 2 level o Participation in subspecialty clinical activity, clinics, and MDT working o Completion of workplace-based assessments mapped to RCoA Stage 2 outcomes o Involvement in quality improvement, audit, and/or research projects o Contribution to teaching and training of junior staff and multidisciplinary teams o Engagement with clinical governance and service development activities The post holder will work under the supervision of a named Educational Supervisor and subspecialty consultant leads.
