Geriatric clinical fellow (ST3+) Vascular Surgery

The role will start in Sept/ Oct 2026 1 year fixed term post offered pending 3 month probationary period The postholder will work for the vascular geriatrics consultant delivering comprehensive geriatric assessment to older patients undergoing vascular surgery. The postholder will undertake pre-operative assessments on the ward and in clinic, be involved in shared decision making and optimising patients for surgery and post-operative management on the ward. The fellow will participate in board rounds, ward rounds - jointly with vascular and independently - and multi-disciplinary team meetings. There may be an option of contributing to the on call rota covering acute medicine and ward cover on calls. The postholder will also be part of the senior health referral rota, reviewing patients under other specialties. These are often surgical patients and will provide exposure to other surgical specialties.
