About the role
The oculoplastics fellowship is an intensive fellowship, under the supervision of Prof Saul Rajak, Mr Huw Oliphant and Miss Valerie Juniat. The fellow will have supervised and independent operating (according to experience), and the opportunity to conduct multidisciplinary surgery with other specialities such as ENT and neurosurgery. The fellowship has a strong research component, and the post-holder is expected to take an active role in ongoing and new research studies, and clinical and surgical improvement projects.
The fellowship is under the direction of Prof Saul Rajak, Mr Huw Oliphant and Miss Valerie Juniat. The oculoplastics fellow can expect to receive comprehensive training in eyelid, lacrimal (endoscopic and external) and orbital surgery, as the department has a high throughput of routine and complex eyelid, lacrimal and orbital cases and a regional referral centre for these subspecialties. The clinical duties of the post include the following: 3-4 theatre sessions (2-3 consultant led, 1 independent and once monthly joint ENT endoscopic lacrimal and orbital list) 3 oculoplastic clinics 1 eye casualty 1 departmental teaching session 1-2 supporting professional activity sessions On Call Commitment: 1:8
