Consultant in Geriatric Medicine

We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Geriatrician to join our expanding and dynamic department.

This post has been developed to strengthen and support the Care of the Elderly wards within the Jubilee Wing, as well as to enhance and further develop our Acute Frailty service. The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to older adults across both inpatient and acute care settings.

The role comprises 6 programmed activities (PAs) per week, with an additional 0.66 PAs available for specialty weekend work.

The appointee will join a well-established and collaborative team of Consultant Geriatricians, contributing to a comprehensive Care of the Elderly service. The department has a wide range of specialist interests, including:

Falls and Syncope

Parkinson's disease

Osteoporosis

Rehabilitation and Community Geriatrics

Acute Frailty

The post comprises 6 programmed activities (PAs): 4.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPA), supporting revalidation, CPD, teaching, supervision and governance. Job plans are reviewed annually and SPA may be adjusted to reflect teaching, research and managerial roles.
