About the role

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in PACU (Post Anaesthesia Care Unit) and Anaesthesia at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post is available at this busy major UK teaching hospital from 05 August 2026 for a period of 6 or 12 months.

The Clinical Fellow position would suit any trainee with a minimum of two years’ experience in Anaesthesia providing the opportunity to further their anaesthetic experience in a supervised training environment. The position will involve completing modular training in a number of subspecialty areas of anaesthesia, appropriate for their level of experience. A large proportion of the workload will be in the newly established CUH Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU), however the job will include after hours work covering emergencies and supervised theatre lists.

Full Registration and a licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement is required.

The NHS department enjoys close links with the University Of Cambridge Department Of Anaesthesia and opportunities to participate in research may be available to suitable applicants. This post may have an on call commitment on a full shift rota system if required by the department. The shift working pattern will be explained at interview.

Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
