Applications are invited for the role of Consultant in Medical Virology at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), This is a full-time established post, the successful applicant will provide virology expertise and clinical leadership across transfusion/transplantation virology with a focus on blood donation and transfusion.
The post holder will be part of the Microbiology Services Clinical Team at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) based North London. The Microbiology Service Clinical Team is a small multidisciplinary team that works across the whole of NHSBT providing clinical advice, working closely with laboratory colleagues, and supporting and developing research. As this is a specialised area of work, NHSBT recognises that the candidate, whilst having skills applicable to the post, will not necessarily have expertise in this precise area of virology. The appointee will be offered a period of induction to familiarise themselves with the various aspects of NHSBT work and support to develop within the role.
