About the role
We are seeking 2 Consultant Gastroenterologists to join our friendly and supportive team at Worcester Royal Hospital. This post is particularly well suited to near-CCT West Midlands trainees looking for a consultant role that offers flexibility, professional autonomy, and the opportunity to shape services in a well-established DGH. Most specialist interests can be accommodated including hepatology. Expertise in nutrition would be particularly beneficial Why this post? Genuine opportunity to shape and develop services in line with your interests Support to develop subspecialty, educational, leadership or portfolio interests Flexible job planning, including LTFT and annualised options Remote sessions supported for appropriate SPA and administrative work Gradual, supported introduction to the on-call rota, particularly for new consultants Current on call frequency is 1 in 7 (split across 2 weeks) and will become less frequent with any new appointments There is no commitment to on call GIM and the unselected take 2 SPA for all consultants with further allocation available for additional roles As part of the Consultant AAC, shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide a 5 minute presentation on the topic: How might the Gastroenterology service develop over the next 5 years?
