About the role

Applications are invited for an Interventional Radiology Fellow to join the Imaging and Medical Physics Group at University Hospitals Birmingham. This post supports the expanding interventional radiology service based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Accredited radiology training is essential, and the successful candidate will gain subspecialty experience under the supervision of the Interventional Radiology team. The fellow will contribute to general radiology and participate in the Interventional (SpR) on call rota. Applicants must be on, or eligible for, the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology. UHB is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England and provides one of the UK's most advanced radiology services. Facilities include state of the art IR suites and hybrid theatres, with access to major tertiary specialties such as trauma, oncology, hepatobiliary, transplant, vascular and respiratory medicine. The fellow will have opportunities to develop skills in oncology intervention, embolization, vascular procedures, renal access and trauma intervention. The new Heartlands Treatment Centre houses modern diagnostics, outpatient services and IR suites equipped with the latest imaging systems.

Key Responsibilities are to: The successful candidate will work alongside a team of experienced Consultant Interventional Radiologists, delivering a broad range of IR procedures across our major tertiary hospitals. The fellowship provides hands-on training, supportive supervision, and exposure to both core and advanced techniques, including: *Vascular and non vascular interventions *Trauma and emergency IR *HPB, renal and urological interventions *Oncology and palliative procedures *Image guided biopsies and drainages We welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates who is: *GMC registered doctor (or eligibility) *FRCR or equivalent qualification with a strong interest in Interventional Radiology *Commitment to high quality clinical care, teamwork, and continuous learning Excellent communication and organisational skills Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork Value a supportive, inclusive and forward-thinking working environment. Essential

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
FRCR or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience.
Minimum of 1 year's clinical experience within chosen sub-specialty area
Ability to verify complete details of employment history.
Available to start within 4 weeks of interview
Full GMC registration Inclusion on Specialist Register or, if in training, eligible for inclusion on the Register within six months at the time of interview
Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
Experience in general and interventional radiology / imaging
Eligibility to live and work in the UK
