About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Specialty Doctor to join our Neighbourhood Mental Health Services (NMHS), working within Waverley in West Surrey under the supervision of an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will work within a forward thinking, recovery-focused NMH service, and will be encouraged to participate in the Trust's weekly academic programme & will have opportunities to engage in research, leadership activities, clinical audits, & quality improvement initiatives. You will be part of a dynamic, innovative, & supportive multidisciplinary team (MDT), have access to a weekly Trust-wide academic programme. Person specification

Essential

MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
Full medical registration with a license to practice.
Obtain Section 12(2) MHA and will be expected to renew this approval according to agreed procedures. If any doctor is not section 12 approved, a discussion will occur between the appointed doctor and the Associate Medical Director for Research & Development.
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
Knowledge of legislation, Department of Health Guidance and literature and its implications for clinical practice.
Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge
Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
Make decisions based on evidence and experience, including the contribution of others
Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA
Experience working with various patient groups presenting with the full range of clinical severity across different care settings, including community, inpatient, and specialist teams.
Knowledge of psychiatric provision
Ability to take a clinical leadership role in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care.
Ability to appraise own performance as a Speciality Doctor and reflect on development needs

Desirable

MRCPsych or equivalent
Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills.
Specific training qualification/certificate or attendance on a recognised teaching course.
