Consultant in Paediatric Urology

A whole-time post as consultant in paediatric urology with on-call paediatric surgery and urology commitments, is available now at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a substantive Consultant post.

Clinical; The post-holder will contribute to the provision of tertiary level paediatric urology care and in the acute general and neonatal surgery as part of the acute rota (1:7.5). The post-holder will work closely with other members of the paediatric surgery and urology teams, including clinical nurse specialists, in the delivery of high-level care for children and families from the region and beyond. The post holder will also have clinical support from clinical team members (trainees, trust doctors and foundation doctors) in delivering this care. The post-holder will need to travel to different sites e.g. Horton General Hospital, Chipping Norton, Northampton General Hospital, and within our ODN for theatre sessions and clinics. These are existing clinics and lists, as well as others in development. Appropriate travel time will be permitted to reach these sites.Teaching/Research Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is a teaching hospital trust, and the post-holder will be required to participate in programmes for teaching clinical students, training junior doctors and in clinical examinations. It is expected that this will be an integral part of everyday clinical activity. The post-holder's contribution to teaching, training and research will be included in the regular job plan review.
