About the role
Pemberton Surgery is a forward-thinking, high-achieving training practice serving approximately 10,400 patients in Wigan, Greater Manchester. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 4 session Salaried GP to join our supportive and well-established team on a 6-month maternity cover basis, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, professional and caring practice, with the stability of a fixed-term post alongside the possibility of longer-term progression within the team. We are passionate about delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care. Our multidisciplinary team embraces innovation and technology to enhance patient access, supported by a well-established total triage model (AskMyGP, transitioning to Accurx). We understand the pressures of a busy general practice and we pride ourselves on achieving a good working environment, providing support from the GP partners.
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of clinical presentations Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary practice team Manage a clinical workload supported by an effective triage system Contribute to maintaining safe and efficient services Participate in practice and PCN working where appropriate The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute positively to the practice, with potential for longer-term development should a permanent role become available.
Pemberton Surgery is a friendly and supportive training practice with a strong team-based ethos. Our team includes: 4 GP partners 2 Salaried GPs Practice Nurses (2 WTE) Healthcare Assistant Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Experienced administrative and management team We are rated Good overall by CQC, with Outstanding in one domain, reflecting our commitment to high-quality care. We are part of Wigan Central PCN and work closely with neighbouring practices and the wider health system. We operate a well-established total triage model and use EMIS and Docman systems to ensure GP workload is manageable and focused on patients with the greatest clinical need.
