Consultant Obstetrician- Maternal Medicine and Fetal Care

Somerset NHS foundation Trust is seeking a passionate and forward thinking Consultant Obstetrician to join our expanding team at Musgrove Park Hospital. This new post has been created to strengthen our high risk obstetric service and support the development of a dedicated elective caesarean section team. This is a full time (10 PA) permanent position with a 8.5.1.5 DCC/SPA split with a requirement to participate in theobstetric only on call rota (1:12) The successful candidate will have a special interest in high risk obstetrics and foetal surveillance, with the skills to perform grown scans and doppler assessments for small for gestational age babies. They will also provide cross site leadership as the Obstetric Fetal monitoring lead supporting training, compliance and quality improvement across Musgrove Park and Yeovil District Hospitals. This is an obstetrics only role with no gynaecology commitments, offering the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative and inclusive team delivering near tertiary level care in a district general hospital set Interviews for this position are likely to be held on the 20th April 2026, full details will be released to successfully shortlisted candidates.
