This post is appointed on a fixed-term basis for the primary purpose of providing structured training and supervised clinical development. While the postholder will contribute to service delivery, the overarching purpose of the post is to provide defined educational opportunities, supervised clinical practice, and experience aligned to the relevant specialty training curriculum Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

The appointee will join a team of 30 Consultant and Specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeons delivering a high-quality service to the local and regional population. This post will consolidate the range of specialist trauma expertise available in our Major Trauma Centre (MTC), allowing for timely access to surgery for all patients. The post will contribute to the on-call rota and to the trauma ward round senior rota, allowing us to deliver a high-quality, responsive service. The post will contribute to the development of a modern and dynamic outpatient service, using virtual and tele consultations, where appropriate.

You will deliver continuous service improvement to their clinical subspecialties, ensuring that UHS is at the forefront of clinical techniques and service delivery modalities. They will be important for the continued improved educational opportunities in this department, including at registrar and at foundation year levels.
