About the role
The post-holder will provide personal medical services, managing a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. The post holder is directly responsible to the Practice Manager for all organisational and administrative issues and the Partners for all clinical issues.
To provide face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations and home visits for housebound patients, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion To make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation To undertake and request pathology, radiology and general screening tests as clinically appropriate and following up on all results and take appropriate action within an agreed upon time-frame Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate. To aid in the signing of acute and repeat prescriptions as presented on a previously agreed schedule. Avoiding the use of hand-written prescriptions, where possible.
