About the role
We are inviting applicants to apply for the Cornea Clinical Fellow post in Ophthalmology at Colchester Hospital. This is a full-time clinical and surgical fellowship post for the period of one year (with the possibility to extend for another year), offering specific training in aspects of Corneal & Anterior Segment , Refractive & Glaucoma Surgery. This is a 12 month fixed term post in the first instance to start August 2026.
The post will offer hands on clinical and surgical experience in a broad range of anterior segment surgery. The postholder with gain exposure to the range of specialist procedures provided by the Anterior Segment Consultant. The post-holder may be expected to perform independent cataract surgical lists, and cross cover. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to perform independent surgery, although specific training will be offered in complex cataract surgery, and high volume cataract surgery.
