About the role

Applications are invited for enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals to join our friendly team within the Emergency Department as the post of Senior Clinical Fellow. This post offers the opportunity to work on a registrar rota alongside Emergency Medicine trainees and is suitable for doctors with at least 4 years postgraduate experience who are competent or on their way to being able to act as senior (lead) onsite clinician. As an Integrated Care Organisation, Whittington Health is commissioned to provide acute and community services to meet the needs of our diverse population. Our mission is "Helping local people live longer, healthier lives". The Emergency Department has a co-located Urgent Care Centre, and a Clinical Decision Unit with well-established pathways and a multidisciplinary team. There is a dedicated Children's Emergency Department. This advert will close after sufficient applications have been received.

Person specification

Essential

Must have full GMC membership.
Achieved a primary medical qualification as recognised by the General Medical Council
Completed 4 years full time postgrad training. At least 2 will be in a relevant specialty or have equivalent experience and competencies
Be familiar with and be able to demonstrate an understanding and experience of the major principles of the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2012)
Completion of F2 competencies (or equivalent), or at least 2 years post qualification clinical experience
At least two years working in Emergency Medicine.
Experience working at registrar level in an Emergency Department
To be able to act as senior (lead) ED clinician onsite
To have up to date ALS.

Desirable

Any teaching experience or completion of relevant courses.
Completion of audit and any changes instigated following audit.
To have up to date APLS, ATLS.
