About the role
Upgrade your quality of life! We need a new colleague to join the Rheumatology team on the Isle of Wight due to the retirement of one of the two existing whole time Consultants. This post is based exclusively at St Mary's Hospital in Newport. There are no on call commitments. You will be joining our friendly team consisting of 2 full-time equivalent Consultants, 1 Wessex Regional Trainee Doctor, 2 Rheumatology nurse specialists and 2 osteoporosis nurse specialists as well as our great dedicated administrative team. We are looking for a great new colleague to continue to deliver and extend the comprehensive range of Rheumatology and DEXA services that we offer to the island's population. The successful candidate will be supported in developing subspecialty interests and also encouraged to have a direct involvement in the Wessex Deanery specialty training programme as well as supporting the undergraduate training of Medical students from Southampton. There are also opportunities to develop mainland links or research interests as appropriate. Please refer to the job specification and person specification for the main responsibilities of the role. The successful candidate will be required to have appropriate experience in Rheumatology and to hold (or be within 6 months of obtaining) CCT certification from the General Medical Council. **Job description has not yet been approved by the Royal College**
