Consultant Colorectal Surgeon

Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC, and on the GMC specialist register, or be within 6 months of attaining specialist registration at the time of interview.

The post-holder shall be expected to deliver emergency general surgery and elective coloproctology. The successful candidate/candidates will also be encouraged to develop their skills in one or more of the specialist techniques/services described above and this will be actively supported.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a service which is at the forefront of providing a modern colorectal and emergency surgery service. Nottingham Colorectal Service has one of the busiest emergency and colorectal cancer workloads in the UK. It is also a major tertiary referral center for the wider East Midlands. We have established services in advanced laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, intestinal failure, anal cancer, retroperitoneal sarcoma, faecal incontinence, TEO/TEMS, SILS, locally advanced and recurrent colorectal cancer and an active Academic Department (University of Nottingham).
