Essential

oFull and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
oApplicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
oApplicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
oEvidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
oFRCPath or evidence of equivalent qualification
oRecent wide experience and completion of Specialist training and ability in general histopathology and morbid anatomy.
oGood writing and presentation skills
oWillingness to develop an area of special interest to fit in with current establishment and service needs
oEvidence of audit and the implementation of change following the audit.
Ability to organise and prioritise their workload effectively.
Ability to plan strategically and to exercise sound judgements when faced with conflicting pressures.

Able to support the Clinical Director of Pathology.
o Experience of conducting clinical audit.

Desirable

oHigher Medical Degree PhD/MD.
oSpecialist reporting experience in GI, dermatopathology, gynaecological pathology pulmonary pathology, breast pathology, urological pathology, 'head and neck' pathology, 'Soft Tissue and Bone' pathology
oExperience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
oRecognised teaching skills course/ medical education qualification
oEvidence of having undertaken original research.
oPublications in relevant peer-reviewed journals in the last five years.
oManagement Experience
oTraining in medical education
