As a Consultant Radiologist, you will share responsibility with colleagues for the delivery of a comprehensive and high-quality radiology service across the Trust. Your clinical duties will include reporting and specialist input across a range of modalities, which may include plain film radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and image-guided intervention. The post holder will contribute to: Emergency and acute imaging services. Cancer and Faster Diagnostic Pathway services. Urgent and routine outpatient imaging. National screening programs ( Breast and Lung Cancer Screening) where appropriate. Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings across a range of specialties. Service improvement and transformation projects within the department. You will participate in the consultant on-call rota and provide cross-cover during annual, study, and professional leave. The role also involves providing expert radiological advice to clinical colleagues across the Trust and working closely within multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care. In addition, there will be opportunities to contribute to teaching, training, governance, audit, and departmental development

Our busy and dynamic Radiology Department performs more than: 70,000 X-rays annually 50,000 CT and MRI scans annually 30,000 ultrasound examinations annually The Clinical Team currently comprises 15 Consultant Radiologists, reporting radiographers, sonographers and trainees rotating from Norwich Radiology Academy. We provide training for: Specialist Registrars from NNUH Medical students from the University of East Anglia Medical School. Sonographers from the University of Hertfordshire. Radiography students from the Universities of Suffolk and Exeter. Practical mammography training for our radiography workforce. Person specification

Essential

MBBS or Basic Medical Degree
FRCR or Equivalent
Inclusion on the Specialist Register of GMC and/or hold CCT in Radiology or have an agreed date for it which is within 6 months of the date of interview.
Full GMC Registration
Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across a wide range of
Experienced in all modalities used in General Radiology
Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively
Able to plan and develop the service
Willingness to participate in and lead a multi-disciplinary team,
Ability to use research outcomes in clinical practice
Experience of conducting clinical audit
Experience of using evidence base to support decision making
Ability to communicate clearly with patients, colleagues, and
Ability to develop effective working relationships on an
Experience in teaching junior medical staff & medical students
Willingness and ability to fulfil the key elements of the job
Ability to cope with the demands of a DGH based consultant
Commitment to continuing professional development

Good previous attendance record
Knowledge of the NHS wider strategy, including

Desirable

MRCP, FRCS or other postgraduate degree
NHS BSP Accreditation
Experience in a special interest that will complement those existing in the department, eg breast or interventional
Experience in PACS / CRIS radiology systems
Experienced in basic interventional radiology
Training in a sub-specialty complementary to that of the existing
Experience of committee work/project management
Involvement in research projects and published papers

Formal training in teaching skills

Ability to lead and develop the service

Kowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit principles andevidence of direct involvement in 2 specific audits in the last 18 months

Knowledge of principles of research and evidence of

Computer Literate
